Make sure you save them as an HTML file, not a text file. (Just type filename.html instead of filename.txt or whatever default extension Linux uses. Obviously, filename refers to whatever you want to call it).
All you have to do is upload the files to GoDaddy’s server. There should be a section on your account that will let you upload HTML files.
Since you plan to use godaddy.com for hosting, they should have a guide to setting up with a different domain service with their hosting. If it deems to difficult, you should go for the hosting & domain name service.
I personally use Yahoo, the hosting is 12 a month, but comes with a free domain name. Also the content management system on Yahoo is fairly easy. It also hooks up nicely with a FTP application like FileZilla.
