It depends some of the hosting companies have better servers that will be ok if something goes wrong. But others will delete everything. So i would indeed do backups
The space is good, however, if you are going to have job listings, your going to want to have a dynamic, database driven website to store all of the jobs and maybe even have a login. It’s going to become a hassle to add and update pages manually, and it becomes time consuming. It will much better suit you to use a dynamic website using a scripting language and database. Do you get unlimited databases on this hosting plan, or just a certain number? How much bandwidth do you get as well? If you are going to have alot of traffic and go over your bandwith, you will pay extra.
Here are some options for programming languages and databases.
Windows server supports ASP.net programming language and MS SQL database, while a linux generally supports PHP and MySQL. Some servers offer additional support of Java and postreSQL. ASP.net is difficult to learn but more mainstream in colleges while PHP is simpler to learn, but not taught in schools (there are certifications for both though).
Let me tell you something about backups; you should and will always need to back up your website no matter which web hosting company you choose. Servers are computers, and computers are always, and always will be, vulnerable to viruses, crashes, hard drive failures, and so on. Data is always at a risk of loss. In today’s world, the odds are low but there’s always bad people out there. Even with Go Daddy or a top of the line server like The Planet, you will always need to back your website up.
If your interested, I got my own small business in hosting and developing websites myself. I have a reseller server where I can sell hosting to others for an affordable price with different options for space and unlimited MySQL databases and support for PHP and web mail. If interested in my offer or any other advice, you can contact me through my websites contact form and I can get back to you via email:
