GoDaddy’s minimum plan (http://www.godaddy.com/Hosting/Legacy.aspx?ci=9009 ) would be enough to get you going. It’s $4.99/month, or $4.24/month if you pay for 3 years. A .info domain name is going for $0.89 (that’s right, 89 cents/year) right now. A .com name is $10.69. (You can buy a domain name from any ICANN registrar – http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/accredited-list.html – scroll down to the chart) and have it hosted anywhere else.)
I’ve been using GoDaddy for years and have no complaints – they’re fast, they’re up (online just about all the time) and tech support will hold your hand if you need it. (This idiot needed help to change his credit card on their site – couldn’t find where to do it. The representative treated me as if i was actually an intelligent human being. And they’re just as good with deeply technical questions.)
