I always create all my Joomla projects locally and once I am done with them I deploy them on hosting. If you try to do this manually you will run into problems. The easiest way to approach this is to use Akeeba Backup extension. It’s a great extension that saves you time and headaches. You back up the site on your local server and then restore it on your hosting server. The process is painless and pretty much automatic, all your directories will be re-mapped, etc. No manual tweaking required. Try it.
Good luck.
