here is a list of things you should evaluate
1) does the server have a UPS connected to it
2) Does the facilities have a back up generator.
3) can you remotely power off the servers.
4) Do they provide a web interface to manage your server.
5) can you get a hardware filewall (even shared) as a frontend to your server.
6) is the memory and cPU sufficient to do the job you want the server to do. Usually above 1 GHz cPU and 2 gig Memory with a 200 Gig disk is minimum.
7) are you knowledgeable to trouble shoot a server remotely, if not then ask what the services cost from the hosting company.
