well me and my friend play this in S.A and there are no dedicated servers around here i have a 4Mb linr with a 500kbs upload so would this work if i try this will the lagging be gone with ?

click on which ever mode u want to play then click play with friends then click create lobby then change the game settings which says dedicated server or best available server to local server then when u start the game it will run the game directly from ur computer.

red or orange bars means the person hosting the game has a bad upload speed or is far away from you, it is not a problem with the game its a problem with ur internet and you do what he says in this video it is basicly just starting ur own game on ur own computer which is why the bar is green, but the chance of sombody elses bar being green that joins ur game is very low unless u have a good upload speed e.g 500kbps upload at least.

ahhh soz i was to lazy to make it but to do it u click play choose what ever mode u want (servival, campain ect) then click play with friend and click create lobby then go into your game settings and where it says dedicated server or best available server make sure u change that to local server, then when u start the game ur computer will be hosting the game.

theres settings to make ur own local server, u dont have to unplug anything just click which game u want to play (missions, death match, servival) then click play online, then choose the map u want to play on then click find lobby, then click edit game settings and click on the server tpye option and choose local server then press back and start game and walla ur on ur own local server just like in this vid but without unpluging anything.

You no u can make a local server without doing that stuff…. it has settings to make ur own server lol and your ping is always green on ur own server because the server is on the same computer ur playing on however if u dont have a good upload speed (least 256kbps or 500kbps recommended for 4 players) then other people will always get lag or get red ping in ur server. remember there are settings to make a local game for left 4 dead u dont have to unplug anything……

since i’m the host, that means i am the admin right. so i can enable sv_cheats with a modded gamesave. sweet.

yes, before I figured this out, I was using the START/CANCEL trick which involved starting then canceling the search a few times before finally letting it go.
more time consuming, doesn’t always work, and if you aren’t patient… crashes your box
