It sounds like most of you don’t have the File Extensions shown, for windows 7 go into organize > view and look for the “Hide Known File Extensions” uncheck that and hit apply, you should be able to see the .txt and be able to rename that too .bat
Working! Downloading files, so far. Too bad the new update wrecks Mani Admin. Maybe updated already though. Thanks for sharing this excellent tutorial video.
Lol, when i name the textdocument to Server Update.bat nothing happends, it is still an txt document…………………….:s
Its actually not that hard to update from command prompt, all i had to type was:
cd C:Program Files (x86)ValveHLServer
HldsupdateTool.exe -command update -game “tf” -dir.
^for a tf2 server (you may not need (x86) as I have a 64 bit version of windows installed.
i am faling at makeing my txt into a bat file, what am i doing wrong+?
ok, i was having trouble bringing up my server too. I’ll try this out. Thanks!
i had a few problems with it but i was able to use trial and error on the latest tf2 update. it is now Start hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir C:tf2
