    CLoud is actually based on…guess what…FILE SHARING!!!! :) Yes, cloud computing was born from the basic idea of torrenting…

    Cloud Computing is not “innovation”, but “evolution”..what do you think??

    this is a really cool video!

    This reminds us again, Simplicity is the ultimate perfection. Every individual who has got a question what is “CLOUD COMPUTING” will be answered after watching this video… Beautifully explained. I’ve get to know eventually what is it :)

    @vuurvoske i do not know about 2012, i work in network security, not futurology

    Very nice basic vid :)

    @VinceLP Nice arguments, do you also believe 23 december 2012 we will all die?

  • Written by leelabiswas about 1 year ago.

    What about the platform and application layers? I apologize if this was touched upon in the video, but it seems like the cloud is just shared hosting, like an electric company.

    @bighands69 the goal of cloud computing is 2 put “evrythng” on the cloud, its jst the truth as that is the end goal. ha u really think that they would allow anyone to congest the network when they feel like it?(More like pay half a million and you can use it for 15 minutes), lololol arnt u arrogant, cmon mate, businesses wouldnt do this if they couldnt see it making them money, “you” do not matter 2 them. If Im borderline luddite tht would mke u a total communist.

  • Written by bighands69 about 1 year ago.

    @tachi203

    Not all applications will be on the cloud. I still dont think that you can Differentiate this point.

    The applications that are most likely to be on the cloud are computationally intensive applications.

    Every citizen will have available computation that offers billion fold increase in power to that of there desktop.

    Your view points are bordering on Luddite philosophies.

    @bighands69 Not helping big business is a good cause lol. Or are you a big fan of mainstreaming everything?. I’m sure you realise this but from the looks of this, your a fan of just giving them control as you dont see the long term harm. They slow progress so much. But anyway, this is a simple fact, “if you are fine pissing away your intellectual freedom, be my guest, help big business(As if they dont have enough money). Do you as you like, but dont say you wernt warned. what happend to values?.

  • Written by bighands69 about 1 year ago.

    @tachi203

    And how do you define a good cause.

    Google have many projects that many people would consider a good cause.

    Google information modelling is allowing people in the developing world access to tool sets that they never had access to before.

    Companies like google, microsoft, facebook, apple and so on have all allowed customers access to tool sets that they never had before.

    I am not saying that they have not done bad things.

    @tachi203

    I have read all you comments but unfortunately it is difficult to keep focus when there is multiple comments.

    I am accessing all the comments. I am picking topics from all of you comments.

    And I am not just talking about narrow examples of computing when you discussed google. Yes certain google tool sets are not computationally.

    But googles data processing does require massive computational processing to model information.

    Google maps is an computation intensive model.

    @bighands69 I think you need to read the entire 4 comments not just my first one, because Im not saying just that.. “Click the “see all” comments from now on, on the main video bit”, then comment to my last comment that way I atleast know you reading all of what im saying, because i think youve been missing things.

    @tachi203

    In the next 10 years there will be powerful CGI tool set that the average person will use.

    They will be used for real world modeling that will have graphical engines that the average user will use.

    It will be possible with these engines to create digital 3d models of physical items and them processed on the cloud.

    These types of engines will not be possible on home pc as the power required will be too great.

    and ur internet is not geting sucked to help add procesin power to google, to reduce their curent monthly bils etc. Look, google etc wants your computer, 2 b a peice of there network technicaly and leech off ur computer to help them run at a lower cost. Very similar to “Folding@home” except google etc do not have a good cause. except this will be on a larger scale and less noticable that they are doing this. If u are fine with this, b my guest. Personaly, fuck that.
